What can I expect in a first session?
You can expect to talk about what you want to explore in therapy. This is a time for you to see how we might work together. I will ask you questions about yourself and there is usually a therapeutic contract to go through together which will include the terms and conditions such as number of sessions and how frequently we will review them.

How long do sessions last?
Sessions are usually 50 minutes with the remaining 10 minutes to arrange your next appointment and write case notes.
What types of counselling are there?
There are different models of therapy; CBT, Person-centred, gestalt, mindfulness, integrative and psychodynamic to name a few. There are also other forms of counselling available, this is just some of them. It’s not uncommon for a therapist to use various types of counselling based on individual need.
